Award surprise for bank staff

19 Nov, 2009 09:26 AM
DEBBIE Avery and Linda Stocks, two Westpac banking officers dedicated to customer satisfaction, have both been nominated for a Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award.

The pair was pleasantly surprised and flattered to be acknowledged for something they do with pleasure day in and day out.

The Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak Pride of Workmanship Awards were introduced to acknowledge workers who display outstanding qualities in their approach, dedication, attitude and commitment to their job.

“I was a bit surprised and also honoured to be nominated for the award,” home finance manager Debbie said. “It’s nice to be appreciated by the boss.”

Banking service representative Linda was also honoured.

“My first reaction was excitement,” she said. “It’s really pleasing to see the side of banking that is so important in my life, customer service, actually receive recognition.”

“I live in this town and I relate to the people in this town. Doing my job well allows me to sleep at night.”

Debbie said: “My commitment to my customers is that I give them a great customer experience and try to make their home loans go through as quickly and as easily as possible”.

Debbie and Linda are both looking forward to joining other award nominees at next Wednesday night’s presentation at C.ex Coffs, where every one of the nominees is a winner.

Organisers are expecting about 120 guests at the presentation night.

“We’re thrilled to receive 51 nominations in only the first year of the awards, it can only grow from here,” Coffs Harbour Daybreak Rotary club member Linda Nolan said.
