COFFS Harbour Uniting Church members are celebrating life this weekend.
The annual anniversary of the church is providing the members of the congregation the opportunity to celebrate life in all its fullness.
The congregation is celebrating 94 years of ministry, mission and compassionate care on its Vernon Street site in Coffs Harbour with a weekend of activities to highlight the wonders of life, both in this physical world, and in our relationship with God.
“Despite our recent heartaches with floods, we do live in a wonderful part of the world”, Parish Minister Reverend Ian Weeks said.
“We want to celebrate the blessings of living in this region, and the blessings of knowing a wonderful God who loves us and wants us to experience life in all its fullness.”
To help with the celebrations, the church has invited Pastors Dan and Sue Armstrong to share in the weekend’s activities.
Mr and Mrs Armstrong were ministers in the congregation in the 1970s, and many remember the deep impact their ministry had throughout the community at that time.
Since leaving Coffs Harbour, Mr and Mrs Armstrong have had an effective and encouraging ministry of reconciliation, refreshment and renewal throughout Australia, and in many other countries.
Tomorrow the congregation invites the community to a barbecue picnic lunch at Boambee Creek Reserve at 11am.
The weekend will conclude with Sunday celebration services at 9am and 7pm, with a free sausage sizzle brunch after the 9am service at the church on Vernon Street.
All are welcome to these events.
