Jetty Memorial Theatre welcomes 2010 season

10 Dec, 2009 07:39 AM
JUST in time for Christmas, the Jetty Memorial Theatre has launched its 2010 subscription season.

“Next year will see the Jetty Memorial Theatre play host to some of the best theatre from around the nation, right alongside our talented and dedicated locals,” theatre manager Craig Higgs said.

“2010 is all about welcoming - welcoming the best drama, the best comedy and the best music to our theatre.

"We hope to welcome back our old friends and usher in some new ones as we delve in to an exciting season of great theatre.”

The 2010 season is jam-packed with everything you could want to see at your local theatre.

Want some comedy? How about the comedy classic ‘Cosi’ by Louis Nowra (June 3), a riotous comedy about a burning desire for theatre?

Perhaps drama is more your cup of tea? Then, welcome Garry McDonald and Henri Szeps, with the superb production of ‘Halpern & Johnson’ (September 28–29) – an award-winning drama about two very different men with one surprising thing in common.

Some music perhaps? Well take your pick - the very talented Coffs Harbour Musical Comedy Company presents Cabaret (May 7 -29).

“We kick-off the year with the sublimely talented, classical guitarist Karin Schaupp in David Williamson’s play, ‘Lotte’s Gift’ (February 19 – 20) and we wrap up the year with the international hit ‘Menopause the Musical’ (December 8 – 10),” Mr Higgs said.

“The kids are well looked after too as we welcome our exciting family program, including ‘The Grimstones’ (September 3 -4) – a gothic fairytale in the tradition of Harry Potter - and ‘Wombat Stew’ (August 10 - 11), the ‘true-blue-dinky-di-big-Aussie-mu sical’ for kids.

“Whatever you want to see, I can guarantee it’s at your theatre in 2010 and everyone is welcome.”

Looking for a last-minute Christmas present? How about a subscription to the theatre?

Subscribers can save up to 15 per cent off the standard ticket prices, have first access to the best seats in the house and it’s easy.

Subscription brochures are available from the Box Office (or download one from www.jettytheatre.com.au), select a minimum of four productions (excluding family and bonus shows), return it to the Box Office and we will do the rest.

For more information, or to organise your subscription brochure, contact the Box Office on 6652 8088 or go to www.jettytheatre.com.au
