THE Clarence Valley and Coffs Harbour Regional Water Supply Project Management team from NSW Public Works has been recognised by the peak project management body in Australia - the Australian Institute of Project Management - and presented with the National Project Management Achievement Award in the regional development category.
"The success of the entire Regional Supply Scheme, including the recently completed Shannon Creek project, has been down to the excellent cooperation and relationships created by all the partners involved,"
Coffs Harbour Mayor, Keith Rhoades, said.
“I would like to add my congratulations to NSW Public Works for a job well done."
Clarence Valley Council Mayor, Richie Williamson, said: “This award demonstrates the excellent project management service provided by NSW Public Works in implementing the Regional Water Supply project and, in particular, the construction of Shannon Creek storage. Council congratulates NSW Public Works on this fantastic national achievement”.
NSW Public Works acting regional manager, Kevin Plummer, said: “Successful projects require a partnership between the client, contractor and project manager. NSW Public Works is very proud that its excellent relationship with Clarence Valley and Coffs Harbour councils, NSW Office of Water and Leighton Contractors has received this external national recognition.
"This award recognises not only Public Work’s project management team, but also both Councils’ staff in achieving a successful project outcome.”
This is the second project management award for the Regional Water Supply project, with previous NSW Public Works project manager, Gary Kennedy, receiving the national Individual Project Management Achievement Award in 2005.
