TRIVIA buffs and colourful racing identities will come together for next month’s Giddy Up Twilight Trivia evening, organised by the Rotary Club of Coffs Harbour Daybreak.
For an evening of hilarity, the odd racing and local trivia questions, dress in your best race day outfit, as a jockey, or even as a horse to win prizes on Friday, May 14 from 6.30 pm at Coffs Harbour Racing Club.
Event organiser Linda Nolan is enthusiastic about the auction prizes already on offer, which includes a table and entry package for 10 racegoers worth $500 at this year’s premier event, the Coffs Harbour Gold Cup.
Pet Porpoise Pool has also donated an $800 family gold pass, beachbodies at the Jetty Village Shopping Centre has put up two annual membership packages, Aanuka is offering accommodation and there are many lesser-priced restaurant meal offers.
Last year’s event attracted 350 people and Linda is hoping to improve on this result to generate more money for local mental health.
“Lifeline relies heavily on community fundraising and they do such a good job,” Linda said.
“Mental health is something that is not talked about enough and it kills more than the national road toll, so our Rotary club wants to do what we can to support Lifeline in helping people experiencing mental health crises.”
Businesses wishing to donate additional prizes to the Giddy Up Twilight Trivia evening should phone Linda Nolan, 0402 321 831.
Tickets are now on sale at the venue or by phoning Coffs Harbour Racing Club, 6652 1488 with credit card details. Tickets cost $20 each and tables of 10 can also be bought for an evening which includes finger food and drinks at bar prices.
