CHANNEL Ten’s popular weatherman Tim Bailey will present his weather segments from Coffs Harbour on November 23-24.
The TV personality has been invited to broadcast from the city to show Australia that the recent floods have not affected Coffs Harbour’s excellent reputation as a prime holiday location.
“Despite being battered by five natural disasters in 10 months, Coffs Harbour is most definitely back in business and we’re very pleased that Tim will be here next week to help us prove it to the nation,” Coffs Harbour Mayor, Keith Rhoades, said.
"Our community has been so resilient that the area is already back on its feet and ready to welcome the thousands of visitors who come to enjoy our region every year.
"The retail centres and tourism operators are operating as normal and are ready and waiting to greet holidaymakers.
"All the natural attractions that bring people to this area in their hundreds of thousands are already back to their best.”
Coffs Coast Marketing’s manager Glenn Caldwell said there was no reason why holidaymakers would not be able to get the most out of a trip to the region and having Tim Bailey’s weather coverage to around 800,000 viewers would certainly help get the message across.
"All the attractions, restaurants, cafés, shops, accommodation choices are ready and waiting to ensure that anyone coming to the area will have a holiday to remember," he said.
“The floods have hit some tourism operators hard, but the industry is open for business.”
