04 Mar 10 | CRICKET: Coffs Harbour scored a crushing 89-run win over Clarence River in the final of the North Coast Cricket Council’s under-14 years inter-district competition at Ellem Oval, Grafton, on Sunday. Winning the toss and making first use of the crease, Coffs Harbour compiled 142 runs before being bowled out in the 44th over.
04 Mar 10 | TENNIS: Kelly Armstrong was in top form at the recent 2010 Far Northern Tennis Championships in Glen Innes recently, spearheading a 12-strong team from the Coffs Coast’s Baylis Tennis Academy. Kelly was beaten by Kirsty Asseff in the women’s special singles final, teamed with Luke Edwards to win the open mixed doubles final 9-6 and combined with Adam Berrada to beat fellow Coffs Coast players Nardia and Allan Pade 9-4 in the special mixed doubles final.
04 Mar 10 | NORTH Coast Football (NCF) Youth League teams have completed their pre-season training and practice matches ahead of the kick-off for competition points this weekend. Six zones within Northern NSW (from Newcastle to the border) will compete for supremacy in the boys’ 13, 14 and 15 years and girls’ 16 years age divisions, with a full home and away competition running until August.

26 Feb 10 | COFFS Harbour Triathlon Club has six members heading across the Tasman next week to race in Ironman New Zealand at Lake Taupo on March 6. About 1500 athletes from more than 40 countries will compete in the gruelling 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and 42.2km run, with many vying for a coveted spot in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii later in the year.

25 Feb 10 | COFFS Harbour Triathlon Club members achieved excellent results in Sunday’s Trial Bay Triathlon at South West Rocks. The club was well represented by 58 athletes and was prominent at the awards presentation following the race.
Melissa Bulloch, Lyn Fulton and Kath Porter all won their age category.
