WOOLGOOLGA High School held its annual athletics carnival recently, with a number of records broken.
Lachlin Arthur (13 years) and Nicole Gusman (14 years) each set three new marks.
Lachlin’s new record came in the 100m (13 seconds), triple jump (10.72m) and long jump (5.07m), while Nicole’s record-beating efforts were in the high jump (1.55m), long jump (4.88m) and triple jump (9.88m).
Other record breakers were Zac Donnelly (12 years discus, 21.85m), James Grgovic (1500m walk, 12 minutes 8.1 secs), Dane Partridge (15 years 1500m walk, 9 mins 53.1 secs), Michael Houbert (16 years 200m, 24.2 secs), and Maree Houbert (16 years 3000m, 15 mins 26.9 secs).
Age champions were Alanna Puckeridge and Lachlan Aitken in the 12 years, Jessie Gentle and Lachlin Arthur in the 13 years, Nicole Gusman and Gilbert Schweikert in the 14 years, Jamin Courtenay and Jordan Gusman in the 15 years, Maree Houbert and Michael Houbert in the 16 years, and Courtney Lower and Rory Courtenay in the 17 years and over.
The champion house was Emerald with 996 points from Diamond 825 points, Mullaway 590 points and Arrawarra 536 points.
