SBS football guru Les Murray has accepted an invitation to be guest of honour at the 2010 North Coast Football (NCF) Zone end of season presentation evening on September 25.
Murray is a long-time friend of new NCF president Peter Rowe and said he was looking forward to visiting the Coffs Coast.
"It's a fantastic part of the world, one of my favourites, so it will be great to be part of North Coast Football's end of season gala evening in a World Cup year," Murray said.
Murray will shortly be heading off to South Africa to anchor the SBS coverage of the 2010 World Cup.
"It's going to be a great tournament, the sounds of African drums and the rhythm of a new continent. I am really excited by it all," he said.
The NCF awards night will be held in the main auditorium of major sponsor C.ex Group Coffs Harbour on Saturday, September 25 and Rowe hopes for a capacity turnout.
"I have been friends with Les for 20 years, he is a fantastic bloke and the biggest fan of our game in Australia," Rose said.
"I'm now calling on all NCF clubs to get in early and book tickets for what promises to be a superb evening."
To hear one of the world’s most travelled and experienced football analysts share his thoughts in person is a rare opportunity
Further information on the format of the evening will be announced next month, giving all clubs plenty of time to organise their requirements.
Murray is a TV presenter and football commentator with SBS and is the author of several books, including his autobiography By the Balls.
