SAWTELL FC Scorpions’ senior teams came out playing with a sting in their tails last weekend.
The first division men finally had their first win, and not just a small win, but the largest scoring win in first division this season.
Yamba came out firing for 20 minutes, but with coach Glover’s new game plan the boys saw it through and gave Yamba a 10-1 thrashing.
The Shearing Shed man of the match award went to Tye O’Connor.
The under-19s men had a slow start in their game against Yamba.
The play lacked urgency and was, I think, the slowest game I’ve watched this season.
But the Scorpions never looked like losing and slowly lifted the tempo of the game towards the final whistle to take a 4-2 win.
The Coopers Surf Australia man of the match award went to Dean Bailey.
The first division women had a great 2-0 win over the Northern Storm Cyclones, with the Coffee Club player of the match going to Bec Pryce.
