NORTH Coast Football (NCF) Youth League teams have completed their pre-season training and practice matches ahead of the kick-off for competition points this weekend.
Six zones within Northern NSW (from Newcastle to the border) will compete for supremacy in the boys’ 13, 14 and 15 years and girls’ 16 years age divisions, with a full home and away competition running until August.
Teams from North Coast Football, Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football, Northern Inland Football and Football Mid North Coast will compete in a 14-round competition, which for the first time will also include Central Coast Thunder.
The overall winner in each competition will be crowned state Youth League champions.
The competition began last weekend, however, NCF had a first-round bye, so this weekend’s round two action is the debut for many local players in the Northern NSW’s premier competition for junior representative teams.
Round 2 draw (home team mentioned first): Macquarie Football v North Coast Football at North Lakes Oval, Speers Point; Central Coast Thunder v Newcastle Football at Pluim Park, Lisarow; Hunter Valley Football v Northern Inland Football at Thomas and Coffey Park, Weston; Football Mid North Coast has the bye.
Kick-off times for NCF matches: 10am, 16 years girls; 11.30am, 13 years boys; 1pm, 14 years boys; 2.30pm, 15 years boys.
