19 Mar 10 | ALL 15 clubs within the Mid North Coast District Golf Association will be represented in this year’s pennant competition. Association secretary David Rushworth said it was the first time every club from Grafton to Crescent Head would participate in the winter competition.

Open day success
19 Feb 10 | THERE was a huge turnout for the annual opening day of the Coffs Harbour Golf Club ladies last Wednesday. A field of 156 played a 4BBB stableford, with visitors from many district clubs including Bonville, Grafton, Nambucca Heads, Macksville, Woolgoolga and Sawtell. Caba’s Drapery sponsored the day, providing great prizes for the winners.
Rhonda’s back for Bonville golf classic
18 Feb 10 | CONCORD golfer Rhonda Magner was pleased with her round on Tuesday in preparation for the defence of her QantasLink Ladies Amateur Golf Classic title at Bonville, this weekend. Rhonda has played in all 13 editions of the classic, finally breaking through in 2009 after six consecutive runner-up finishes.

03 Dec 09 | WOOLGOOLGA Surf Life Saving Club will hold its annual charity golf day at the Safety Beach course on Sunday. This is a major fundraiser for the club and is now in its 12th year. The event is an 18-hole three-person ambrose, with two teams of three playing together. There will be a shot-gun start at 10am and teams will needed to be booked in by 9 30am.

23 Nov 09 | BONVILLE Golf Resort general manager Brad Daymond talks about the day he met world No.1 golfer Tiger Woods and enjoyed his company during a round at Kingston Heath in Melbourne earlier this month. Daymond had access to the great golfer few enjoy when he caddied for Bonville resort director Peter Montgomery in the pro-am played just days before Woods captured the Australian Masters.
12 Nov 09 | THE Mid North Coast District Golf Association’s junior representative team fell just two shots shy of winning the NSW Country teams’ championship in Canberra at the weekend. The three-member team of Brandon Connor, Jamie Hook and Tim Hyland finished with a combined total of 296 after the 36-hole competition at the Murrumbidge Country Club, two shots behind winners Central West. Illawarra took second place on 295.
Bonville to host more state golf titles

01 Oct 09 | COFFS Harbour sub-junior golf coordinator Bill Mackay has a lot of time for young Jack Pountney, believing the 11-year-old has a tremendous future in the game. “He’s got a good temperament and he’s a really nice young fellow to talk to,” Bill said this week after Jack scored yet another hole-in-one during a competition round last Saturday.
25 Sep 09 | AN intriguing final 36-holes is looming in this weekend’s Woolgoolga RSL Golf Club’s A grade championship. First round leader Grant Skinner came back to the field after last week’s second 18 holes, firing a seven over par 79 to relinquish his early four-shot advantage. Logan Toms and Gary Bolton each fired 74s last Saturday to grab the halfway lead on 150, just one shot ahead of Skinner.
17 Sep 09 | PROMISING young golfer Jack Pountney has again made the NSW primary schools’ team after finishing runner-up at the state championship played at Mudgee last week. The Year 5 St Augustine’s Primary School student fired rounds of 83 and 78 to fall just one shot short of claiming the overall title.

03 Sep 09 | BONVILLE Golf Resort is giving Coffs Coast residents a chance to rub shoulders with four of Australia’s most successful sporting legends at the fourth Legends Lunch on September 10. The lunch will feature James Tomkins, regarded as the greatest rower in history and Oarsome Foursome member; Marjorie Jackson, the ‘Lithgow Flash’ who was born in Coffs Harbour; and Ken Wallace, kayak gold and bronze medal winner from the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
Coffs players dominate
27 Aug 09 | COFFS Harbour players cashed in on home course knowledge to dominate the major awards at last week’s 27th Mid North Coast District Veteran Golfers’ Association’s week of golf. Peter Holloway won the Jack Cathro Trophy for the best 54-hole stableford total played on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Selectors name top squad
20 Aug 09 | COFFS Harbour and Woolgoolga players dominate the six-player Mid North Coast open team for the regional championship in Gunnedah next month. Coffs Harbour scratch markers Nathan Woods, Dylan Stollery and Jason Barby will be joined by Woolgoolga one-markers Logan Toms and Aaron Hart for the 36-hole championship to be played on September 5-6.
