FINGERS are crossed at Coffs Harbour Golf Club as the 2012 Ladies Opening Day approaches.
Ladies captain Dinah Nutchey-Robinson is hoping for fine weather for the first day of the new season on Wednesday, February 15.
While recent rain has sometimes made playing conditions challenging, the course is coping well.
Nutchey-Robinson said the event attracts a large field from around the region.
"Last year we had 148 players. I would assume we would have a similar number but it depends on the weather of course," she said.
The day marks the beginning of the new season and Nutchey-Robinson said there are a number of events to look forward to in the coming year.
"Our Ladybird events held once a month are a highlight and the NSW Seniors Championships are coming to Coffs Harbour during the week of March 26-30," she said.
"It is an honour to have the event being held on the Mid North Coast of NSW and we are hoping that a number of the ladies in the district will enter and play."
