Mia masters challenging conditions for victory

COFFS Harbour Golf Club sub-junior Mia Jovanovich won the overall net trophy at the Jack Newton Golf Foundation’s Champions Trophy held at Mount Broughton earlier this month.

Mia carded rounds of 90, 87 and 84 in tough conditions.

The youngster has now reduced her handicap to 12.

Meanwhile, the Century 21 Real Estate-sponsored weekly sub-junior competition continued at Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

The winners in A grade were Dillon Leehy (44), Jacob Burrows (39) and Jack Pountney (37), while the nearest the pin went to Tom Stocks.

In B grade, the winners were Heidi Court (49-29), Hunter Stewart (51-30), Lachlan Smith (50-32) and Jack Stocks (50-34), who also landed the nearest the pin.

The winners in C grade were Harry McMillan (37), Peter Stocks (38), Adam Sellers (42) and Claudia Stocks (54). Harry McMillan also won the putting and was nearest the pin.
