THE Diamond Martial Arts end of year graduation ceremony and Black Belt Spectacular was set to be amazing and it didn’t disappoint.
The Little Dragons kicked of proceedings with a demonstration of what they had learnt this term.
The image of 13 3-6-year-olds lined up demonstrating self defense moves was quite a sight.
The colour belt graduates followed on where they demonstrated self defense applications, poomse (patterns), sparring and board breaking.
The crowd was well and truly warmed up and had high expectations of the black belt students.
The students who included two Cho Dan Bo’s (provisional black belts) were tested for their first black belt, and a first dan black belt student was tested for her second Dan Ranking.
Having already participated in fitness testing ( including a timed 2.5km run) and a two hour pre-graduation testing session, they were well and truly feeling the heat of the day.
The students participated in the entire graduation
ceremony and then wowed the spectators with their showmanship demonstration, board breaking, and their pre-prepared speech on ‘what it means to be a black belt’.
Congratulations must go to Chris Loads, Josh Cole and Lily Tran on their amazing achievements.
