Sawtell Swimming Club's Aidan Blaxland has been awarded club swimmer of the week after swimming three personal best times from three attempts - a huge effort.

Aidan (right) is eight-years-old, has been swimming since he was very young and trains once a week. He said that his best effort so far has been completing a 200 metre individual medley, which is a very challenging swim for such a young man.

Aidan enjoys swimming club because he loves racing and doing his best. He is also a keen Nipper for Sawtell SLSC, plays soccer for Boambee Bombers, and has also tried his hand at basketball. He also enjoys riding his bike and scooter, and playing the Wii.

Congratulations to Aidan. Sawtell was well represented at the Speedo Sprint Carnival in Kempsey last Saturday, with many progressing to the upcoming finals, to be held in Sydney. Well done to all swimmers.
